Three Olympic hopefuls in Women’s Gymnastics

Gymnastics is a sport that requires strength, flexibility, balance, and control. The women's events include vault, uneven bars, balance beam, and floor exercise. Here are three Olympic hopefuls in Women’s gymnastics:

Gabrielle (Gabby) Douglas: Gabby is a member of the US Gymnastic team. She won Gold in 2012 in the individual all-around and team competitions. In 2015, she was a member of the Gold winning American team at the World Championships. She is the first African American in Olympic history to become an all-around champion and the first American to win Gold in both individual and team competitions at the same Olympics Games. She is also the only American al-around champion to win multiple Gold medals in a single Olympic Games.

Maggie Nichols: Maggie is an American artistic gymnast. She won 4 medals at the US Gymnastic National Championships. In 2015, at the World Artistic Gymnastic Championships, she competed on the vault, beam, and floor in the team competitions and helped the US Women’s team to win Gold, beating the teams of China and the United Kingdom.

Simone Biles: Simone is a 3 times World all-around champion, a 3 times US National all-around champion, a 3 times World floor champion and a 2 times World balance beam champion. She was a member of the gold medal-winning team at the 2014 and 2015 World Artistic Gymnastic Championships. She was the first African American to win the World all-around Championship and the first woman to win 3 consecutive World all-around titles.
