Baseball America names Nate Pearson Fourth Best Prospect

Nate Pearson is a top prospect for the Toronto Blue Jays and was recently named by Baseball America for the 2018 Top 100 MLB Prospect List. The Toronto Blue Jays had four members of the team in the top 100 list. Two of them were in the top 10. Vladimir was at number three whereas Bo Bichette was eighth. Anthony Alford was at number 60. Nate Pearson made the high 100-list for 2018 ranking at number 91.

In 2017, during the Overall Baseball pick, Nate Pearson was number 28. Nate, who plays as a right-hander, has experienced tremendous rise to rank at number 4 in the Jays Journal prospects ranking for the year 2018. With the improvement, Blue Jays could have a bright future with Nate. Nate’s fourth ranking comes only after only one season of baseball at the professional level.

Pearson is only 21 years of age and had eight starts in the 2017 season. During the season, Pearson played half a season for the Blue Jays. Despite few appearances, he made a surprise appearance on the top 100 prospects list. Pearson kept opposition bats at .097 on average last season. He had a solid display during his appearances. He had a dominant show in Northwest League. Nate obtained a 70 grading on a fastball and hopes to improve on control and the curveball. He had an above-average slider and changeup grades during the season.

Pearson is improving on his fastball speed. He is also developing the secondary skills, such as a change-up, curveball, and slider. Nate’s fastball was clocked at 100 mph. With the developments, Nate could be the real deal in the 2018 season.
