Jon Jones is going to rehab

Jon Jones, the face of the Octagon, has checked himself into rehab after he tested positive for cocaine and that spur quite a lot of comment in the UFC world, especially from Dan Henderson. It is quite well known that things are not smooth between the two fighters even since they fought each other in 2012 at UFC 151.

Henderson – now 44 years in age – is a bit older and has been longer in the game than most other fighters. When commenting about Jones’ rehab visit he stated that it’s probably because he stayed away from cocaine that he is still in the sport he loves.

Henderson continues to say that he heard about this a couple of years ago, however it is only now that things are certain. Henderson is known to dislike Jones because he believes Jones acts differently in public and in private life. This goes to show Henderson was right.

Another issue Henderson has with Jones is the message he is sending to young kids who are worshiping the sport. The problem is that Jones is still the face of Octagon after he’s been arrested for a DUI and still now after the whole cocaine thing. He fears that children will come to love the UFC not for the sport, but for the idea that you can lead whatever a lifestyle you want and still be the good guy.

Henderson accepts the fact that Jones is a great fighter and hopes that with him leading the private life he does will not shame the sport.
